EDUCATION ADVOCATE FOR OUR CHILDREN AND WORKING FAMILIES
• Co-sponsor of Paid Sick Leave Legislation
• Supportsraising Philadelphia’s minimum wage to $15/hour
• Tax relief for working families who send their children to day-care and early education
• Saved E.M. Stanton School by creating a partnership with the Goldenberg Group
• Created the Friends of Bartram Group to combat school violence
• Held rallies to call for increased school funding in the School District and Harrisburg
• Established Airport Workforce Advisory Board to make job opportunities for residents
• Brokered an agreement at the Philadelphia International Airport allowing workers to organize

• Fought for the approval of over 100 mixed-income, affordable and senior housing units through partnerships with Habitat for Humanity, Innova, the Altman Group, and other affordable housing organizations

• Dedicated city funds to clean and clear alleys and trees
• Authored legislation protecting dogs from the cold weather
• Passed a bill allowing the city to “Pop the Lock” in order to clean blighted and vacant lots
•Advocated for the implementation of the Focused Deterrence program
• Banned 3d Printer Guns and Realistic Toy Guns. Increased fines for the sale of BB Guns to minors
• Secured funding for the city’s second shelter for victims of domestic violence
• Held Public Safety walks and Stand Up Man Up events with at-risk youths
• 10 Quality of Life Tours throughout the district connecting city services and agencies to residents
• Senior Citizens Health Fairs, Valentine Day and Christmas Brunches
• Supported the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Pop-Up Garden on South StreetClean and Green
• Partnered with the Community Life Improvement Program (CLIP) to clean over 3,000 lots between 2012 and 2014
• Dedicated land for public green space to create the new Carpenter Green Park
• Supported the Grays Ferry Triangles Park at 23rd and South StreetsInvesting in our parks and recreation centers

• $85,000 to rehab the Ralph Brooks Tot Lot

• $100,000 for a new playground in FDR Park after Arson

• $500,000 for state of the art fields at Lanier Playground
