PHILADELPHIA – February 22, 2017 – Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown in partnership with Steppingstone Scholars Inc., University of the Sciences, and the School District of Philadelphia will host the 4th Annual Step Into College Pre-College Conference on Saturday, March 11, 2017, 9:00AM-2:00PM at the University of the Sciences located at 600 South 43rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104.

Organized in 2013 by Steppingstone Scholars Inc., Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown, the University of the Sciences, the School District of Philadelphia, and the Mayor’s Office of Education, the Step Into College Conference is a two-day college access conference that provides students and their families with essential, college preparation, guidance, and informational resources.  For the past four years, the Step Into College Conference has served and enlightened over 1,500 students, counselors, and families.

“The Step Into College Conference is an amazing collaboration that brings together an amazing array of partners all committed to providing a better pathway to college and career for young people in this city,” said Dr. Sean Vereen, President, Steppingstones Scholars.  “Steppingstone is proud to be a lead partner with Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown and the University of Sciences to improve and grow this important conference each year.”

“University of the Sciences is thrilled to once again open its doors to the students attending Step Into College.,” said David Forde, Director of Community and Government Affairs at the University of the Sciences.   “Through this conference, students are provided the information necessary to take the next leap in life after high school. We are so proud to be a part of the team that provides this opportunity for Philadelphia’s youth.”
