PHILADELPHIA, February 5, 2018 — Councilman Kenyatta Johnson (2nd District) had the following statement this afternoon for fans, following the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl LII win and subsequent announcement of a parade on Thursday, February 8th.

“I congratulate the Philadelphia Eagles on their mighty 41-33 win against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII last night. This entire Eagles organization is full of dedicated, hard-working members––from the players to the executive leadership—who shine on and off the field through their passion for football and philanthropic contributions to the City of Philadelphia. Their performances throughout the 2017-2018 season have inspired fans across the region and I could not be more proud to represent the Philadelphia Eagles and Lincoln Financial Field in the Second Councilmanic District.

“Beyond the stadiums, I also represent half of South Philadelphia’s neighborhoods. As we prepare for a parade through South Philadelphia on Thursday, please remember that the parade will last one day but damage to business and residential properties could have a lasting negative impact on our communities. I urge visitors and residents alike to celebrate our first Super Bowl win safely and respectfully. Go Birds!”
