Public testimony on the proposed FY ’14 Operating and Capital Budgets began Tuesday, April 9th 2013.  Most of the pubic testimony will take place in City Hall.  However, Council will hold 2 Neighborhood Budget Hearings.  The first will take place:

Wednesday, April 17, at Penns Landing Caterers (1301 S. Columbus Blvd.) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“Philadelphia’s First Council District has seen dramatic economic growth and development while continuing to face the challenges of the post-manufacturing era. I am so pleased we are holding our first neighborhood budget hearing in this District,” said Councilman Mark Squilla (1st District).

“As City Council continues to press the Administration for clarity on its Actual Value Initiative (AVI), it can only benefit the budget process to hear from as many residents impacted by this property tax system overhaul as possible.”

Philadelphia residents wishing to sign up to testify should call 215-686-3410 or 215-686-3411. Written testimony may also be submitted by e-mail to Chief Clerk of Council Michael Decker, [email protected].

Penns Landing Caterers is accessible via I-95 and the No. 25 bus. Additional directions using SEPTA may be found via Trip Planner.

The complete FY 2014 budget hearing schedule is posted on City Council’s website at https://philadelphiacitycouncil.net/.
