Amending Title 12 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled ?Traffic Code,? to clarify the appropriate methods and circumstances of enforcement of traffic violations in order to provide for the fair and transparent administration of the traffic violations, prevent racial disparities, and protect public safety, and making certain technical changes, all under certain terms and conditions.
Honoring and congratulating Ms. Opal Lee for her tireless efforts to have Juneteenth recognized as a national holiday.
Recognizing the School District of Philadelphia for becoming the first Pennsylvania School District to acquire electric school buses.
Authorizing the Committee on Public Safety to hold hearings regarding creation of a program of voluntary public service work to be included as an alternative to criminal sentences.
Authorizing the City Council Committee on Children and Youth to hold hearings on Philadelphia’s juvenile probation system, examining opportunities to reduce racial inequities, review formal supervision and confinement, and support youth accessing programming, employment, and other resources.
Recognizing and honoring Mayor James F. Kenney’s administration, the First Judicial District, and organizational partners for establishing Philadelphia?s Eviction Diversion and Rental Assistance programs that have succeeded in keeping individuals and families housed, as well as protecting the public health during the COVID-19 pandemic, and becoming a model program for the nation.
Authorizing the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority to execute and deliver to the Philadelphia Land Bank deeds conveying title to certain properties located in the Fourth Councilmanic District pursuant to the requirements of the Commonwealth Land Bank Act.
Providing for the submission to the qualified electors of the City of Philadelphia of the proposal set forth in a Resolution approved by Council proposing an amendment to the Philadelphia Home Rule Charter to revise the composition of the Zoning Board of Adjustment, by increasing the number of appointees, providing for confirmation by Council of appointees, and specifying qualifications that appointees must possess; and authorizing the appropriate officers to publish notice and to make arrangements for the special election.
Amending Section 21-1203 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled ?Appointments to Citizens Police Oversight Commission,? by revising the qualifications for appointment, all under certain terms and conditions.
