PHILADELPHIA, August 7, 2015 – Today, Councilwoman Bass (8th District), along with representatives from the Streets Department, Sanitation, Licenses and Inspection, and the 39th Police District met with residents of the 11th ward for a neighborhood tour.
“It’s important for representatives of these agencies to see first – hand the issues that plague community members in the 8th District,” Councilwoman Bass said. “In my office, we constantly strive to be the office of yes. In order to fulfill that endeavor, we have to come together to hear the concerns of constituents and determine real long – lasting solutions.”
During the tour, block captains and committee people from numerous divisions guided Councilwoman Bass’ staff and representatives from City agencies through their neighborhood. The group discussed issues ranging from potholes to vacant properties, illegal dumping, unauthorized construction and other matters that impact the quality of life of residents.
The 11th ward begins at Sedgley Avenue and stretches north to Atlantic Street. It is bound on the west by Judson Street and on the eastern side by Broad Street.
