PHILADELPHIA, PA – City Councilmember Kendra Brooks (At-Large) has tested positive for COVID-19.

Councilmember Brooks is experiencing moderate symptoms and expects a full recovery. She is not certain how she contracted the virus and is self-isolating at home.

“The fact that I contracted COVID-19, despite taking serious precautions and following social distancing guidelines, should serve as a reminder to everyone that the pandemic is not over,” said Councilmember Kendra Brooks (At-Large). “With cases rising in Philadelphia, it is critical that we remain diligent, mask up, and limit in-person gatherings, especially inside. While vaccine access is increasing across the city, we can’t let our guards down just yet. I deeply appreciate everyone who has reached out with kind words to wish me a speedy recovery. I expect to be back in action, advocating for a fair and equitable City budget that will stabilize and empower working families in Philadelphia very soon.”
