PHILADELPHIA – In coordination with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Councilman Brian O’Neill (10th District) announces the renovation of Palmer Playground. The renovation of Palmer Playground will begin the week of 2/12 and a total of $475,000.00 will be invested in the Northeast Philadelphia playground. A safety fence will be installed and the playground will not be accessible during construction. However, access to the recreation center itself will not be affected. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of May. Upgrades to the play area include the furnishing and installation of new play equipment, safety surface matting, and a new spray-ground water feature. It will also include the demolition of the existing steps and ramp, and the installation of a new staircase and ramp.
