Philadelphia, PA – Philadelphia City Councilman Allan Domb (At Large) presented checks to nine more Philadelphia public schools at City Hall earlier today, concluding a year of contributions supporting school-identified initiatives.
“There are so many positive things happening within our schools that deserve recognition and I am proud to support their efforts,” Councilman Domb said. “Spending time with the students and faculty throughout my first year in office has been an exceptional experience and I look forward to having the opportunity to visit more schools in the future.”
Prior to taking office in January, Councilman Domb made a commitment to donate his City Council salary to support Philadelphia public schools. To date, over $58,000 has been donated with 23 schools across the city receiving financial contributions. Additional donations were made to cover travel costs for public school students to participate in activities at the Culinary Learning Center located in the Parkway Central Library and in the Art Speaks program at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Councilman Domb plans to visit more schools beginning next year.
