PHILADELPHIA – January 3, 2019 – Councilman Allan Domb (At Large) today released the following statement in response to news that the City had reconciled nearly all of a $40 million discrepancy on its books.
“The Reconciliation Task Force announced earlier today that the City Treasurer’s Office successfully reconciled 98% of the previously unreconciled cash accounts. In a combined effort of the Mayor’s Office, the City Treasurer and City leaders, the team resolved errors dating back to the previous administration.
“Last year, I was greatly concerned to learn about the $40 million that was unaccounted for. As a member of City Council, my goal was to bring to light the situation surrounding the issue and to reconcile City errors. I commend the Mayor’s Administration for addressing this issue and creating the Reconciliation Task Force.”
