Philadelphia, December 14, 2016 at 11:00am – Councilman Derek S. Green (At Large) gives toys to the organization, Women Against Abuse, located at 100 S. Broad St., Suite 1341, Philadelphia Pa, 19110.

Women Against Abuse is a nonprofit organization which services more than 15,000 families of domestic violence each year.  The organization started by providing services for women and children in the early 1960-70’s, and continue to aid ALL victims of abuse until this day.

Around the holidays, Councilman Green believes that it is better to give than to receive.  Keeping with the holiday spirit, he has chosen to partner with Women Against Abuse to help people in need.

“As a parent, I know we take great joy in seeing our children happy during the holiday season, this is why I decided to give to an organization that is dedicated to helping families,” said Green.

“Women Against Abuse is very grateful to Councilman Green and his office for hosting a gift drive for the survivors of domestic violence we serve. This generous donation will brighten the holidays for women, children and men in our community who are rebuilding after abuse.” – Jeannine L Lisitski, Executive Director & President.
