Title 38 of the Code of Federal Regulations defines a veteran as “a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.”

Our mission is serve Philadelphia veterans the U.S. Armed Forces. We also assist spouses, surviving spouses, and dependents with their claims.

You will not receive a bill from this office for our services or assistance. Our office is funded by the City of Philadelphia via oversight by Philadelphia City Council.

Veterans or next-of-kin of deceased veterans can use the online order form at vetrecs.archives.gov (or use the SF-180). Archival requests may also be processed online (or via the SF-180).

We strongly recommend you make an appointment. This avoids waiting time and allows us to schedule sufficient time to handle your needs.

With legislation from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, applicants with an annual income of $85,168 or less are eligible for the Exemption. Once the Exemption has been granted, there is a periodic review every five years. A veteran who is 100% service-connected disabled (or their surviving spouse) who demonstrates a financial need may qualify for a 100% exemption from Real Estate Taxes.
