In 2008, Philadelphians voted to create a unified Department of Parks and Recreation and a citizens Commission on Parks and Recreation to help guide the department. Nine members of the 15-person Commission are appointed by the Mayor from a list of nominees submitted by City Council every four years. It’s time for Council to develop the next list of nominees. You must submit an application by May 6 to be considered.
