Philadelphia, Nov. 24, 2015 – City Council President Darrell L. Clarke on Tuesday issued the following statement on Mayor-elect Jim Kenney’s appointment of Jim Engler as Deputy Mayor of Policy and Legislation:
“Mayor-elect Kenney has once again selected an outstanding ‘graduate’ of City Council to round out an already impressive administration. Jim Engler is not the most well known name in Philadelphia, but his work has affected the lives of thousands in this city. From saner marijuana regulations to more robust demolition and construction safety rules, Engler’s compassion and intelligence have enabled better public policy in the City of Philadelphia. Jim Engler is an even-tempered, attentive, and knowledgeable work horse who never seeks out the limelight. I am therefore especially pleased to publicly congratulate him on a well-deserved appointment as Deputy Mayor of Policy and Legislation.”
